Dana Lajeunesse has deep roots on southern Vancouver Island. A longtime resident of Sooke, he spent his childhood in Jordan River, expecting to grow up and work in the forestry industry, like his Dad and his Grandfather before him. Then, in 1989, a life-altering injury changed everything.

Unable to continue working in forestry, Dana went back to school. He earned a diploma from Camosun College in Mechanical Engineering Technology, and worked in the industry for twenty-four years. He built strong connections in his community, serving on the Mayor’s Advisory panel for economic development and Sooke Region Chamber’s Board of Directors. He was elected to the District of Sooke Council in 2019, and re-elected in 2022.

As a member of David Eby’s BC NDP team, Dana will take action to deliver affordable housing, strengthen our public healthcare system and create sustainable economic development so people can work close to home and family in the communities they love. You can count on him to work hard for you.
