Standing up for families in Juan de Fuca-Malahat
Elected MLA for Juan de Fuca-Malahat in 2024, Dana Lajeunesse has deep roots on southern Vancouver Island. He served as Parliamentary Secretary for Accessibility, he worked to advance accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities across British Columbia.
A longtime resident of Sooke, he spent his childhood in Jordan River, expecting to grow up and work in the forestry industry, like his Dad and his Grandfather before him. Then, in 1989, a life-altering injury at work changed everything.
Unable to continue working in forestry, Dana went back to school. He earned a degree from Camosun College in Mechanical Engineering Technology, and worked in the industry for twenty four years. He built strong connections in his community, serving on the Mayor’s Advisory panel for economic development and Sooke Region Chamber’s Board of Directors. He was elected to the District of Sooke Council in 2019, and re-elected in 2022.
